The Wedding Party
The staple of family and friends there to support us up at the alter and lead the party at the REception. We couldn't do it without these friends.
Sam, Man of Honor - As far as younger brothers go, I got pretty lucky with Sam. Despite being 3 years apart, we have been the best of friends and tend to end up in the same place as the other (cough, Pepperdine, cough). Whether he's making me laugh or having a laugh at my expense, I can always count on him to be there for me. I am beyond excited to have him standing by my side on August 29th.
Molly, Matron of Honor - Being 7 years apart, Molly and I were rarely in the same place at the same time. That all changed when she encouraged me to move to Denver and now we live right down the street from one another. Though our schedules may be busy, we always make time for a family dinner or time to catch up. I am so excited to celebrate with her in Vail.
Alex, Bridesmaid - Long before Alex married my older brother Tommy, I considered her my sister. I knew we'd be the greatest of friends when she first mentioned her love for the Kardashians. She has seen me at my craziest and still wanted to hang out with me. I got the amazing opportunity to be a part of her wedding with my brother Tommy and cannot wait for her to be a part of ours.
Kristina, Bridesmaid - I met Kristina through Dan and she has become one my closest friends in Denver. Thanks to many game nights and glasses of wine, Kristina and I have become quite the sassy duo (just ask Dan and her husband Dave). I have gotten to share so many special moments with Kristina and she even played a part in helping Dan with his proposal. I am so thankful for her friendship and look forward to celebrating with her on August 29th.
Hanna, Bridesmaid - Hanna and I met during our sophomore year abroad in Lausanna, Switzerland. Despite essentially being opposites and her hating Taylor Swift, we became best friends and have stayed close post graduation. Whether we are drinking coffee, eating fro yo, or getting tattoos together, Hanna and I are always having a good time. I am so happy that she will be standing up with me on the big day.
Lisa, Bridesmaid - Lisa and I met on the Pi Beta Phi Rush floor and have been close friends ever since. There is never a dull moment with Lisa and I can always be my weird self when I am with her, which typically leads to hilarious times. I can always count on Lisa for an encouraging word no matter what the circumstances are. I could not imagine my wedding day without her.
Steve, Best Man - As brother of the groom, Steve knows of Dan’s epicness from both growing up together and being best buds through college and today. Whether we were playing sports, tailgating for Penn State football, road tripping across the country twice, Steve brings the life of the party. As my best friend, he’s always been there for me and I'm extremely excited to have him standing by my side.
Greg, Groomsman - aka G-Man or G-Unit - Greg is the peacemaker brother that kept Steve and I from fighting as only highly competitive brothers can do at times. Greg and Dan share a love for the Mighty Ducks franchise. Additionally, they've shared some stellar days on the east coast beaches with their boogie boards and always caught more waves than Steve.
Tommy, Groomsman - Tommy is the quintessential older brother of Ivy, having paved a clean and clear path for both Ivy and Sam back at Sacred Heart Griffith, HS in Springfield. A big fan of Colorado, Vail in particular, Tommy and Dan have shared a few powder days together recently, while après skiing and living it up on bridge street in the heart of Vail.
David, Groomsman - Dave and Dan met in grad school @ the other UNC, U of Northern Colorado in 2010. Being a native of Colorado, Dave grew up skiing Breckenridge and toured Dan around the powder stashes off of Chair 6, the T-Bar and E Chair. Après ski always consists of grandpa Gus’s whiskey and some good ol’ fashioned Euchre. Dave remains without victory against Dan.
Marty, Groomsman - Where to begin. Marty and Dan have known each other since kindergarten. Whether we were exploring the wildlife in the creek of Marty's backyard, playing whiffleball at The Barn Yard, or over a decade of playing baseball together, we've always been best buds. One thing is for certain, Marty’s never been able to match Dan’s weight-lifting prowess.
Paul, Groomsman - As one of Dan’s first friend’s after moving to Colorado, Paul showed Dan the secret to skiing trees and hunting powder in Beaver Creek. Living in Vail together, we were the dynamic duo of the valley; always skiing, rock climbing, mtn biking and pond-skimming together. As the 4th Penn Stater in the party, Paul prefers cosmopolitans over Yuengling or whiskey.
